Faroff.org has been created with the belief that the Bible is the Holy Spirit-inspired Word of God. Being that, the Bible is without error, unable to fail, and authoritative in all truth pertaining to life—including one's personal life. It is 'spiritually alive.'
We believe the Bible "speaks for itself"—that is, no human writer or speaker is required to add or subtract or to modify the Bible's message of salvation and hope in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The Word of God gives meaning to itself.
See 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 6:63, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:19-21.
The Bible is an exclusive source of truth pertaining to God and His work. While it is impossible to cite all biblical truth on this page, essential truths as related to this website includes—
1. God is the Creator of all things visible and invisible. See Genesis 1:1-31, Colossians 1:15-20, John 1:1-4.
2. All humans are sinners under a sentence of death. We are far-off from God—lost—with no self-determined way to be restored to God. See Genesis 2:15-17, Romans 3:9-18, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23.
3. But, God has provided a restoration of his own—Jesus Christ, his Son—who not only paid sin's death penalty for sinners but also rose alive, overcoming the grave and death. He is alive for us to talk to, walk with, and follow. He now lives to save anyone who trusts him. Jesus is our hope for today and for tomorrow. See Romans 5:6-11, Ephesians 2:1-10, Hebrews 7:25.
4. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the one and only way to be restored to a relationship with God. See John 14:6.
5. God sends his Holy Spirit into one's life. He removes the hard sinful heart and practices—giving the person a new heart, a changed life, and the ability to live according to God's Word. See John 14:15-28, John 16:4-15, Ezekiel 36:22-28, Galatians 5:16-26.
6. Those who God saves he also changes. As the result of God's work, a person becomes a new creation—"born again." The new man or woman is freed from habits of sin even though the Christian is often tempted and fails to be sinless. See 2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:3-8, I John 3:1-10
7. A Christian is charged by God to love and obey him and to love one another, even as God has loved us in sacrificing Jesus on our behalf. See John 13:34-35, I John 2:7-14, 3:11-24.
8. A Christian lives his new life by faith—trusting God. It is only living a life of faith—trusting Jesus Christ and his Word—that pleases God. Primary evidence of one living by faith is obedience to God's Word. See Galatians 2:20-3:9, Romans 5:1-2, Hebrews 11:1-6.
9. A Christian today has the same spiritual needs as that of the earliest believers described in Acts; that is a devotion to Bible reading and teaching, prayer, fellowship, service, and worship. See Acts 2:42-47 and 4:32-37.
The Bible references for the belief statements above could—in most cases—be substantially expanded. A user of this website might refer to The New City Catechism for a more extensive expression of faith.
